How Long Do We Have?

So, how will you vote? To continue to subsidize the 40% who don’t work or pay taxes but who will vote for the politicians who will keep their free ride in motion.

How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. From spiritual fait h to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage ..”

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million;

Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000

States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2 Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore’s territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

Pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

The Media Missed this one!

I received this in email the other day and thought I’d pass it on via the web.

denzel.jpgDon’t know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States, especially burn victims. There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses . The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers’ families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He ended up making a substantial donation to the Fisher House Foundation. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.

The question I have is why does Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Sean Penn and other Hollywood types make front page news with their anti-everything America trash and Denzel Washington’s Patriotism doesn’t even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San Antonio, TX?

I just took this political quiz and it rated me as a hardcore conservative… Didn’t need it to tell me that, but it confirmed it! :-)

If only Gore and the others in the mainstream democratic party still felt this way.  But I know it was before 9-11, it was before the world “changed” due to the ruthless attacks on our homeland that started the war the libs are unwilling or scared of fighting.

But now, more than ever, we need unity like this.  We need everyone to come together to fight this war against the absolute evil that wants to destroy everything good in this world and impose an islamo-dictatorship over the world.

To the people against the war:
Do you enjoy your life, do you enjoy the amenities you have in the USA?  Are you glad you most likely have a decent place to live, work, eat, sleep, go to school, a car to drive, etc?  Do you?

Whether or not 9-11 happened or not, whether we started the war on terrorism or not, the Islamo-facist establishment would STILL be trying to kill all non-muslim people.  That is their one dream and goal.  For a total and complete Islamic world.  For the terrorists, there isn’t any compromise or compassion.  They kill their own people just as mindlessly as they kill ours.

Nothing will stop them except complete and total annihilation by the USA and our allies.  We need to kill them until there are no more left to kill.  Track them down until there is no place left to hide.  No trials, no imprisonment.  Just simply put a bullet in their head, a knife in their heart, or a bomb in their home.  All of those who support them deserve the same fate, even if they are considered “innocents”.  Those “innocent” people are most likely the next group of terrorists once the ones we are after now are gone.

If a SINGLE person who is against “Bush’s war” has a BETTER idea on how to win and stop the Islamo-facists from wanting to and trying to kill us all, PLEASE POST A COMMENT and let me know how!  I’d like to read it.

Should the ABC/9-11 Special be Yanked?

On Friday evening, Bill Clinton’s lawyers sent a new letter to ABC chief Bob Iger demanding that ABC yank “The Path to 9/11.” We’ve obtained a copy of the letter, and it reads in part: “As a nation, we need to be focused on preventing another attack, not fictionalizing the last one for television ratings. `The Path to 9/11′ not only tarnishes the work of the 9/11 Commission, but also cheapens the fith anniversary of what was a very painful moment in history for all Americans. We expect that you will make the responsible decision to not air this film.” Full text of the letter after the jump.

I know people who were in Washington D.C. before and after 9/11 and most of the “fictional” things that are described as being in these shows are true. They (the previous administration) just does not want the American people to know about them.

Most of the good things that are done to keep America safe are kept secret too, at least until they leak to the press and the players are hailed as great Americans and get their place in American

But MANY more of the bad things that have happened are completely denied by the administrations, including Clinton’s (many told and untold of stories of abuse) and both Bush’s (Same), no matter how much evidence is leaked out to the contrary.

Credible, well-known people who witnessed these events and speak out are destroyed by the government and the media over petty issues. Less well-known people who speak out are made into un-patriotic wacko nutjobs who have a governmental grudge.

bergers.jpgBut despite how I feel about some of these past administrative actions. I think most of them are better left secret unless they have irrepairably harmed the United States, such as the actions of not only Samuel “sticky fingers” Berger, who “stole” some documents that could be used toClinton1s.jpg show his inaction to respond to terrorist capturing/killing tips, but also Mr. Clinton himself, who did not take a stronger stance and ignore the bad advice of the former NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR (Mr. Berger), Advisor being the key-word, when it came to Bin Laden and al-Qaeda. His job was to advise, to give advice. Not to make the final decision. That was the president’s job and the former president let us down when it came to “whacking Osama Bin Laden” when he had the chance. I’m sure there is more behind it, and other factors to include, but that is the bottom-line.

Let the truth (in this case) be told.

CBS Survivor

survivor.jpgFueled by critics who slammed its lack of diversity, CBS’s Survivor has unveiled a new twist for its upcoming season: Contestants will be divided by ethnicity.

When it premieres Sept. 14, Survivor: Cook Islands will feature 20 castaways divided into four tribes: black, white, Asian and Latino.

“We’re going to take some heat for it,” says creator and executive producer Mark Burnett of the twist, which was announced Wednesday morning. “But it’s a great cast.”

For a show entering its 13th season with steady ratings but ebbing buzz, the decision could be a shot in the arm if it once again generates Survivor water-cooler chatter.

I think this will probably be the best Survivor season ever!  At least the most fun to watch.  People need to chill out.  Races naturally group into groups anyway.  I’m gonna most likely group with the white people, my bubby Chico is going to go with his Amigos, etc.

What’s the big deal?!

ASININE: Indians grow feathers?

Found this over on Moon’s blog and thought I would repost it for everyone here as well.

Political Correctness has run amuck, it’s time to stop it. Do you part and be Politically Incorrect today! I’m sure I will, as I usually am at least once a day. :-)

This is just plain stupid:

The NCAA has denied William & Mary’s appeal of a ruling that prohibits it from using its logo showing two Indian feathers at NCAA championship events or from hosting NCAA tournament games where the logo would be displayed.

Now, here’s the logo the NCAA is so upset with:

Note to NCAA, Indians don’t grow feathers, birds do. Now, wanna see the kicker to this stupid decision?

In that same ruling, the NCAA said William and Mary’s nickname, the Tribe, was not necessarily abusive, hostile or offensive, and therefore still could be used.

Bird feathers are abusive, hostile, or offensive, but a direct reference to Indians is not?

That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. The NCAA has lost its collective mind.

DC to set up crime cameras

DC tourists and visitors would be safer if the chief simply handed out handguns to all law abiding citizens and tourists.  Crime would drop almost immediately and drastically.  Allow permit holders from states that have them carry.  Come on! The solution is obvious.

D.C. police today will begin installing surveillance cameras in four high-crime neighborhoods, nearly 30 days after officials declared a citywide crime emergency.

The closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) will be installed at 14th and Girard streets Northwest, the 400 block of O Street Northwest, the 1200 block of Valley Avenue Southeast, and between the 1500 and 1700 blocks of Benning Road Northeast.

“The deployment of CCTV cameras in D.C. neighborhoods is not a panacea to the serious problems of crime and violence on our streets,” Metropolitan Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey said. “But the cameras do provide us with one additional crime-fighting tool that will help to deter criminal activity in the first place and, if crimes do occur, help us identify, apprehend and convict the offenders.”

A fatal shooting occurred during broad daylight yesterday at one of the proposed camera sites.

A man in his early 20s was shot several times in front of an apartment building in the 1400 block of Girard Street about 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the slaying.

Police spokesman Kevin Morison said it has not been decided where or on what structure the camera would be mounted at the Benning Road site.

Installation of the cameras is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

This is a good article Mircat emailed to me and felt compelled to post.

When I was in the Navy, I once witnessed a bar fight in downtown Olongapo (Philippines) that still haunts my dreams.  The fight was between a big oafish Marine and a rather soft-spoken, medium sized Latino sailor from my ship.

All evening the Marine had been trying to pick a fight with one of us and had finally set his sights on this diminutive shipmate of mine… figuring him for a safe target.  When my friend refused to be goaded into a fight the Marine sucker punched him from behind on the side of the head so hard that blood instantly started to pour from this poor man’s mutilated ear.

Everyone present was horrified and was prepared to absolutely murder this Marine, but my shipmate quickly turned on him and began to single-handedly back him towards a corner with a series of stinging jabs and upper cuts that gave more than a hint to a youth spent boxing in a small gym in the Bronx.

Each punch opened a cut on the Marine’s startled face and by the time he had been backed completely into the corner he was blubbering for someone to stop the fight.  He invoked his split lips and chipped teeth as reasons to stop the fight.  He begged us to stop the fight because he could barely see through the river of blood that was pouring out of his split and swollen brows.

Nobody moved.  Not one person.

The only sound in the bar was the sickening staccato sound of this sailor’s lightning fast fists making contact with new areas of the Marine’s head.  The only sound I have heard since that was remotely similar was from the first Rocky film when Sylvester Stallone was punching sides of beef in the meat locker.

Finally the Marine’s pleading turned to screams…. a high, almost womanly shriek.   And still the punches continued relentlessly.

Several people in the bar took a few tentative steps as though they wanted to try to break it up at that point, but hands reached out from the crowd and held them tight.  I’m not ashamed to say that mine were two of the hands that held someone back.

You see, in between each blow the sailor had begun chanting a soft cadence: “Say [punch] you [punch] give [punch] up [punch]… say [punch] you [punch] were [punch] wrong [punch]“.

He had been repeating it to the Marine almost from the start but we only became aware of it when the typical barroom cheers had died down and we began to be sickened by the sight and sound of the carnage.

This Marine stood there shrieking in the corner of the bar trying futilely to block the carefully timed punches that were cutting his head to tatters… right down to the skull in places. But he refused to say that he gave up… or that he was wrong.

Even in the delirium of his beating he believed in his heart that someone would stop the fight before he had to admit defeat.  I’m sure this strategy had served him well in the past and had allowed him to continue on his career as a barroom bully.

Finally, in a wail of agony the Marine shrieked  “I give up“, and we gently backed the sailor away from him.

I’m sure you can guess why I have shared this story today.

I’m not particularly proud to have been witness to such a bloody spectacle, and the sound of that Marine’s woman-like shrieks will haunt me to my grave.  But I learned something that evening that Israel had better learn for itself if it is to finally be rid of at least one of its tormentors:

This is one time an Arab aggressor must be allowed to be beaten so badly that every civilized nation will stand in horror, wanting desperately to step in and stop the carnage… but knowing that the fight will only truly be over when one side gives up and finally admits defeat.

It’s a gnat, It’s a fly… No!! It’s U.N. Man!

My buddy Mircat sent me this link from Michelle Malkin‘s blog. So, so true, considering it’s over 33 years old!

From Michelle Malkin’s Blog:
It’s U.N. man! Circa 1972

Michelle:
Thanks to reader Giles Babb for sending me this decades-old Oliphant cartoon he clipped from the December 1, 1972, issue of Stars and Stripes.

Babb writes: “You could just as easily run the cartoon in tomorrow’s paper, and no one would know that it had run nearly 34 years earlier.”
